Christmas!!!!!!!!

Its almost Christmas!!! (Finally ive been waiting for ages.)
In the holidays i'm planning on going to Waikanae with Siena! Its going to be awesome!!!!
I also want to go to h2o xtream with the girls (Amelia,Siena,Kelsey and Veronica)
I will be having a bake sale with my sister and my neighbours on the second weekend so make sure you keep an eye out on instagram to know where and when to go!!

Term highlights!

This is the last term of the school year and sadly its coming to an end. I have loved being in Miss Bolgers class with lots of my friends. my main highlights of the term are.... Movie making at technology, Space, passion project, retreat, Mr Cunningham teaching room 11 and doing fun christmas activities with Miss Rodgers!!!!!!!!!! I mean come on we all know shes awesome!!!!

Year 8

Next year im going to be a year 8. IM SUPER EXITED!! ☺ Im really looking forward to have the responsibility..... oh who am i kidding!! Im looking forward for camp and being smarter than the year 7's!     Naaa im just kidding! ;) i have loved being a year 7 so far especially because im in Miss Bolgers class and she is the best teacher ever. like seriously there is no way to explain how awesome she is!!   next year i really want to get my excellence badge and i also want to be a milk monitor because i have done it a couple times and its really fun ( most of the time).  some things that might be challenging next year are probably getting used to having year 7's instead of year 8's.

Speeches!!

For the past 2 weeks we have been writing speeches. My speech was about cheerleading. I don't think people liked it to mu*ch but at least it was fun to write. I loved listening to everybodys speeches. lots of them were really good. so i expect that the final scores will be very close. My spheech went perfectly fine and i had quite a lot of people asking me questions after.

The Fault In our Stars!

The fault in our stars (T,F,I,O,S) is a really good book about two kids with cancer. . The story starts with a deppresed girl with cancer who meets a boy called Agustus Waters who had his leg amputated so that the cancer in his leg wouldn't spread to his body. They fall in love an have lots of fun and cute times.....

(im gonna stop there cause other wise ill spoil it)

Anyway  its a really good book which might make you cry a little (or if your like me, a lot) i recommend it mostly for girls but Im pretty sure boys might like it to.

Speeches

Hi guys. So lately at school we have been writing speeches. I decided to do mine on cheerleading because its a topic that i know a lot about. so far its been quite easy and fast to write. The paragraphs are a bit to long but ill make it work ( once i finish it ). I am worried that it might be a bit to long because there's just so many things to talk about. I've been trying to remember to do all the things like linking the conclusion with the introduction but im not doing very well.

Space

At school we have been studying space. its amazing how many things there are in our universe.

The thing that i have most enjoyed learning is about the different sizes of things because its hard to imagine how big some stars and galaxy's really are. My favorite star is called Betelgeuse because it has a funny name and because it is easy to spot in the night sky.

Christchurch!

In the holidays we went to Christchurch!!

We stayed in some really fancy apartments that had FREE WIFI!!
Sadly the free WiFi didn't make a difference for me because i forgot my carry on bag (which had my iPod in it) at home!!
i only realized i didn't have it with me when i tried t take a photo at the airport. 
Anyway.....
We stayed in Christchurch for 6 days.
And Yeah that's really it... we saw the cathedral and stuff.

Production!!

Last week we had the school production..... IT WAS SO FUN!

I think the audience liked the chair dance because they laughed through most of it. 

I tried really hard to not smile or laugh because my character is supposed to be really serious but i think most people saw me smile a little every now and then.

I really liked the room six dance because they looked kind of creepy with all their teased hair and stuff. I'm really proud of how it turned out because we worked really hard to get everything done on time. I don't think there is anything that i have to say for the next production except that it should be about                 "Fluffies Revenge"

ELECTIONS!!!

this week rm11 and 12 have been learning about Elections and Parliament. To vote you need to be 18 or over. To vote you vote in a polling booth so no one can see your vote. Every party needs to have a MP to represent the party. In NZ you can only advertise for your party for 6 weeks.

Reading challanges

Hi guys. I'm pretty sure that i have only competed 1 reading challenge so far. (the random challenge)

The random challenge is when you go up to a book shelf close your eyes and pick a random book. by the way you have to get a buddie to make sure you don't look while you are picking the book. once you have picked it you have to read which ever one you get unless you have already read it. I really want to complete  the challenge when you have to read 3 books in a series because it looks pretty fun. But i think i might get a little bit bored of reading so much of the same thing in a short period of time. But you never know....

The book i read to complete this challenge is called 'Angus, Thongs And Full Frontal Snogging'. yes i know it sounds really weird but i had my eyes closed and i had no idea what i was going to pick.

Any way please recomend a book for me in the comments because i really need some ideas.

Cheerleading!!

Cheerleading is the BEST sport ever. Everybody thinks cheerleading is a stupid sport where you wave pom poms around and yell. THIS IS NOT TRUE AT ALL!!! (I mean we dont even have pom poms!)

Cheerleading includes lots of different things such us stunts,tumbling, pyramid, dance, double or single baseing and jumps.

Stunts are when you hold someone up in the air in a group of 5 people and make them do cool things in the air. You would usually throw into the air and obviously catch them. Jumps is when you do a serious of different neat jumps. But you dont just lift you feet from the ground. You have to put your arms and legs in a certain position and at a certain time.


Cheerleading is super fun!! I wouldnt really recommend it  for some people...

If you do decide to do cheerleading then i recomend Bigair!

The Chair Dance

HI!


really happy because I got a line in the school production!!!


I got the role of Chief. Since I'm the main person in my scene I also get to be in the dance. But its not just any dance. Its a chair dance. I listen quite a lot during the dance but some of the other people in it get confused so we haven't learnt much yet.


I honestly haven't helped much with props. Well I did help at production design but we didn't get much done.


I made an awesome costume with my buddy Grace. Sadly im not the one wearing it. Oh well.


Its made out of- an orange top, a really cool skirt that's made up of different types of fabrics that have been cut up and stapled together and some wings that we cut out of orange fabric.
As you can see we tried to make it out of warm colours.

This song is a letter that pink wrote to the president about the "real world."
Its about all the homless people that he doesnt normally think about.
It also talks about the people who's houses got destroyed in the war.
I think its a very special song because it helps people appretiate what they have.
I listen to it heaps even though its not the style of music i usually listen to.
its quite a calming song.

Art!!!

Hi. I hope you've had a great day so far. Anyway about one week ago i finished a really cool Egyptian piece of art. first we tea dyed the background. when the background had dried we drew some hieroglyphics in pencil then we had to draw the main picture in the middle. after we had gone over everything with sharpie we dyed some of the hieroglyphics and painted the main picture. it ended up looking like this....

I think it looks pretty but i accidentally made my main picture to small.

Egypt!!!!!!!!!

This term our topic is Egypt.

I really like it it was really fun.

I learnt alot about mummification and houses.

It seemed like a pretty cool place... until i learnt about how they executed people in war. EWWWW        (no offence) 

so anyway yesterday i had to present a power point that i made with my group about mummification. at the end we had to come up with an activity for the rest of the people to do. since we did our power point on mummification we made them go into groups of 3 plus one person to be the model.(so in total 4)

Then we made them wrap the model in toilet paper.(it was hilarious) The last thing they had to do was make decorated amulet to stick on top. it looked really cool.

i think i learnt lot from the power point activity.

Nairnville Gymnastics

HI!!!!!
Today we had our last session at nairnville park.
Nairnville park is a really cool place in khandallah where you can play sports or play at a birthday party.

Anyway,rooms 8,9,10,11,12 walk to nairnville every Thursday.
We do lots of things like- Gymnastics, basketball,athletics, soccer, hockey, badminton and tennis.

Today was our last session of gymnastics. It was really fun because i knew how to do most of the things. But i have to admit i'm not that good at them. There is girl called Jessica in our class and shes REALLY good. Some of the things she can do are quite creepy....(no offence Jessica) 

My favorite things to do at nairnville are... The bar and the big, yellow trampoline.

I haven't really improved at anything.(at all!)

This Week.....

A thing I learnt this week is to think about others first. Fr Doug (our school priest) was talking to us about JOY......

This is the order that every body should think about every time they have to chose between themselves or others.

I don't know why I liked the topic that he was talking about so much but it just really caught my attention.

He used this as one of the examples....
There are two slices of pizza left. One is around double the size of the other. You and your sibling both want a slice.. would you put yourself first and grab the big on or would you put others first and let them chose....

Book Groups!

Hi!
For those of you who don't know, for the past term I've been doing a thing called "book groups."
Its when a couple of people meet up and chose a book to read. During a period of time we read all at the same pace and meet up every now and then to discuss what's been happening in the book.

Tomorrow is our last book group book meeting so to celebrate that we finished the book were planning on brining in some lollies and party hats. its going to be sooooo cool!!

The book I'm reading is called "Running Out Of Time." its about a girl who lives in 1956 (or something like that) and later on finds out she's living in a tourist attraction. In the normal world its something like 1975 where they have a place called Clifton. this place is a very famous tourist attraction where there's screens (that are supposedly mirrors in Clifton) where tourist can see everything that happens inside of Clifton. There are people living in Clifton and pretending that its 1956. They don't tell the kids living in Clifton about the real world until there around 12 years old. One day a disseise called diphtheria starts spreading around Clifton and the government refuses to give them modern medicine. Children start dying so Jessie's mum sends Jessie out of Clifton to get help.(Jessie is the main Character) Its packed with unexpected things and I recommend it for people who like adventure.

I think book groups were a great idea because it gives you a chance to read books you never thought you would.
In my book group we always disagree on where to read up to because some people are really slow at reading but others are really fast. Other than that were totally fine we have lots of fun discussing things even if they're boring cause we can always find a way to make a laugh out of it.

My Favorite Book From Long Ago....

Hi guys i hope your day has been going well so far.

My favorite book when i was younger was definitely from the Thea Stilton series's. Out of all the Thea Stilton books my favorite was properly... The Mystery In Paris.

It was based on these five girls that had to go on a mission to save the fashion designs that were stolen because "the show must go on!!"

I don't know why i loved it so much but i guess i just found it interesting because i read it like three times.

I recommend the Thea Stilton Series for anyone under 10.

Auckland Rapid Jet!!!

I was starting to get really nervous as the small ,red jet that we were on started picking up speed.
We were going so fast when suddenly I notice that the driver puts his hand up in the  and turns his finger.
I recognise that signal, it means where about to do an epic turn.
I hear everybody scream as the boat turns at an amazing speed and heaps of water splashes onto everybody.

PS.. I was soaked at the end.

It was so fun

MISSION FAIR!!!!

$200  !!!!!!!!!!

Yup that's right, my mission fair group won $200.

IN 1 HOUR!!

( sorry i got a bit exited )

well anyway my mission fair group made $200 by selling popcorn, fudge, sherbet, face paint and hair spray.

It was super fun but i was kind of disappointed that we almost ran out of hair spray because a certain person in my group forgot to bring it but i wont name names because i don't want to be rude.

I think next time i should be more organized because i got all my stuff on the last day.

Lately I have been watching a lot of .....PEWDIEPIE!!!!!!

He is a really cool guy who films himself playing video games.

My favorite game play series is "Heavy Rain."

His videos are hilarious and his Swedish swearing which i cant even understand makes me laugh so hard i almost fall of my chair.

Sometimes his videos can be unappropriate so if it comes to that i stop watching them and start watching a different video.

Some of the year eight boys watch him to. I always think that they will make fun of me for watching him. So i usually don't mention it.

He always makes every video funny even if the game is super boring.

I have been watching him ever since someone at school did a speech about him which was ages ago. 

I recommend his videos to everybody who has a good humor.

Statistics!!

On Monday we had a statistics test. I thought it was going to be really boring but when I was about half way through I  realized I liked the feeling of knowing the answer. I know its weird but anyway.
I improved since last time. just thinking about my score makes me happy. I think I mostly improved on my pie graphs because on my old test I didn't even know what pie graphs were.
My old test score was 69.9 (I think )
My new test score is 96.6 (only three wrong)  YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!
the thing I learnt the most was pie graphs.

EOTC WEEK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

EOTC WEEK WAS REALLY FUN!!!

On Monday we went to Nairnville park to play lots of sporty games like tackle bull rush.

On Tuesday we went sailing. It was really fun!!! There wernt as many waves as i thought there would be. I also thought it was gonna be cold. It wasn't. It was FREEZING.

On Wednesday we went to Camp Kaitoki where we got to make bread at a camp fire. At first i thought it was really yummy but then i realized it was disgusting.

We also did some orienteering which wasn't as fun but it was really fun until a certain persons group (which i will not mention) started getting really competitive. 

After orienteering we went kayaking. 

On Thursday we did a Capital E On TV show the whole show was made by us with some help of the capital E instructors.

The show was called Sunshine Sundays.

It was my favorite activity.

On Friday we walked up Mt Kaukau I found it really fun but most people found it really tiring.

The most tiring thing was Nairnville Park.

My proudest moment was when we were filming the TV show.
It was Exactly what i expected.
My favorite part was getting the speed right on the autoque.

I hope everybody else enjoyed it as much as i did!!

Swimming!

At school, once a week we have swimming lessons. I hate them. In always put into the same group. Learn to swim is really boring because we only do simple swimming like freestyle, backstroke, breast stroke, etc.
i really want to be in water safety because they get to do a bunch of fun stuff like swimming in clothes.
none of my friends (except Catherine ) are in my group.so most of the time im just under water like "soooo what should i do now".... yeah its awkward. Even though its boring i try to get something out of it by listening and trying my best. So far I've improved my breaststroke and backstroke. I do swimming twice a week now so im getting quite used to it.
Well now you know most of the stuff i do at swimming.

EOTC week

I cant wait till EOTC week because Michelle said it was really fun, so im trusting her. Sort of. I am mostly looking forward to the 1 day camp thing, because it sounds really fun. Im most worried about sailing cause I've never done anything like it before. And i've also never been so far out to sea before. Im pretty sure I have all the equipment i need. The thing im most not looking forward to is the capital E on TV thing. At first i was really looking forward to it until i was sick on the day they chose the roles. Since i wasn't there i got the worst role. The word shower person.(you know the person that shows the people talking what their meant to say, yeah well im that person). so now i think its gonna be boring. I also think that its kind of unfair that some people get the on screen roles and other people get the boring, simple rolls. But oh well i bet it will be fun anyway.
