Hey!!! This might be a really long post because this week we got asked to post about a family member or family memory that we have, and... well i have a good one. Trust me its worth reading.
So on the 27th of December (the day before my sisters birthday which she had plans for and then had to cancel because of this trip.) my whole family went on a road trip to ... um.... i forgot but oh well we went somewhere because the Ambassador of Argentina invited us to a polo game on the beach.
On our way there we drove past an abandoned house with a big shed outside. We stopped for a moment and instantly had to drive away because of the horrible stink coming from the house.
We kept driving and driving and everybody was starting to get bored. When we finally got to the Ambassador's house we were quite happy to see that the house was really nice and that it was in pretty good conditions. It had two big glass doors leading straight to the beach. Next to this house was a practically identical one which we were hoping was meant for us. A woman walked up to us and offered us a ride to our house. I was a bit disappointed to know that the one next to the Ambassadors wasn't meant for us (seeing as it would be pointless to drive 5 m but there was nothing i could do about it so we got into the woman's van and drove for around 5 minutes until she stopped next to the house. You know what! I don't even know if i can call it a house ! It was more like a couple of wooden planks nailed together on a piece of terrain. It was the 'house' that we drove past before. Yup that abandoned one. The second we saw it my sister and i just looked at each other and started laughing. Not kidding we thought it was a joke. "It couldn't be!!" we thought. But no. It wasnt a joke. We had to spend the night there. After a while we accepted the fact that it was the only choice we had and went to explore inside. We got inside and attempted to close the door behind us like anybody else would have done (right?) but the first problem of the day decided to make itself known. (the door wouldn't close) we ignored it and kept exploring the kitchen was like a big hall with a bunch of dirty cupboards lined up on the edges. The next room was just a simple square with a bed on it. No sheets just a mattress on some wooden planks. The room looked ok until i realized that there was a big black circle on the carpeted floor. It was as if someone had purposely started a fire in the middle of the room. The rest of the rooms were very similar so im not gonna go through them all because it would take ages. One of the similarities between these rooms were the closets. well not really the closets but the things inside them. There were at least 2 creepy, old dolls in each closet. Some were missing eyes, some were missing limbs. I was so creeped out. We got a bit grossed out by the inside so we went to explore outside instead. there was a shed with clouds of flies swarming around it. It smelt SOOO bad! We mainly suspected that the smell was coming from the dead mother pig of the two little piglets that were roaming around the house. We walked around some more until we heard something that made us jump in surprise. GUNSHOTS!!! dun dun dun.......... we ran back to the car and drove off as fast as we could. And when i say we drove i mean we drove all the way back to wellington. Yup thats it. My favorite family memory. BTW i didnt expect it to be this long.
